Purpose of the Las Vegas Meditation Group
|
“Group meditation is a castle that protects the new spiritual aspirants as well as the veteran meditators. Meditating together increases the degree of Self-realization of each member of the group by the law of invisible vibratory exchange of group magnetism.”

Paramahansa Yogananda, founder of Self-Realization Fellowship, said that one of the aims and ideals of the Fellowship is "to teach that the purpose of life is the evolution, through self-effort, of man's limited mortal consciousness into God Consciousness; and to this end to establish Self-Realization Fellowship temples for God-communion throughout the world, and to encourage the establishment of individual temples of God in the homes and in the hearts of men."
The Las Vegas Meditation Group helps the Guru to fulfill this aim by holding weekly meditation services, during which we seek attunement with God through group prayer, inspirational readings, chanting, meditation, and practice of Paramahansaji's scientific techniques of concentration and God-communion. Our Group maintains regular communication with the Self-Realization Fellowship Mother Center in Los Angeles, and we endeavor in every way to abide by the Church's principles and practices.
Paramahansaji said, "The proximity of others' spiritual vibrations has the power of raising your own. Meditating with other devotees thus helps you to quicken your evolution. They inspire you on your climb up the ladder of Self-realization; and you, by your example, can also be helpful to them."
